Ancient History

When working at IBM, I used to write articles and papers for various conferences, and magazines. My first paper I co-wrote with a colleague of mine at the time, Linas Vepstas.

In the distant past I ported many applications to MachTen, a unix for the Mac OS 9 and earlier. Here is one reference for Expect. I use Expect quite a bit:

This is pretty funny. Many years ago when I was at Purdue University earning my degree in Aeronautical & Astronautical Engineering and working for the University, I did up some ASCII art as part of my signature. Someone saved these. Talk about a flash from my past. The signature is under the heading of 5 line signatures, mine is not a very fancy piece of art but some of the others are very nice. All link to the same place.

Public Domain Offerings

  • My very first offering: Comp.sources.misc Volume1/8712/2
  • Bing for Windows NT. Bing stands for Big Ping and is a unix style tool designed to give measurements on network throughput. A great tool for finding link speeds.
  • The Complete works of Shakespeare for a Palm Pilot. This is everything. The collection is best viewed with TealDoc
